Jellyfish Taxon Advisory Group

The Jellyfish TAG is chaired by Hugo Batista (Oceanario de Lisboa). Jellyfish are a popular group of animals used in exhibits and their inclusion in collections is rapidly growing. In recent years there have been enormous strides made in husbandry, breeding, transport and exhibit design for the benefit of keeping jellyfish. The EAZA Jellyfish TAG aims to enhance and develop collaboration between public aquariums, research institutions, and partner organisations to advance the education, conservation and sustainable management of jellyfish species through knowledge sharing, research, and best practices in husbandry. The TAG has the following goals:

1. conservation of jellyfish populations
2. collaboration and knowledge sharing
3. jellyfish breeding and husbandry
4. public engagement and awareness
5. scientific innovations and resources
