1st Announcement
Elasmobranch FAITAG workshop
12 - 13 of March 2012
Burgers’ Zoo Arnhem, The Netherlands
The workshop will be held under the umbrella of the EAZA and EUAC as part of the Fish and Aquatic Invertebrate TAG (FAITAG).
The goal of this workshop is to discuss how we should proceed in Europe on the sustainable management of captive elasmobranches.
We’ll focus on the following subjects: collection planning, breeding programs, breeding, surplus, husbandry problems and communication.
This means it’s a workshop, where small groups will collaborate together to find solutions.
The workshop should result in an action plan for the next 5 years.
So there will be not many presentation, but more discussion and small working groups to bring this subject hopefully to a following level.

Monday 12th of March
9:00 Welcome at Burgers’ Zoo
Morning: Introductary talks and workgroup discussions
Afternoon: Workgroup discussions
16:00 Compile results of the working groups
17:00 End of day program, followed by a tour through Burgers’ Ocean
18:00 Diner at the zoo
Tuesday 13th of March
9:00 Start of day program
Morning: Workgroup discussions

15:00 Compile resutls of workshop and define an action plan
